Rice Kefiran is a plant-based source of kefiran, the polysaccharide otherwise produced in dairy kefir. It is made in Japan.
Fermenting rice is one of the oldest things people do with food, from the rice ferments of East Asia to the cultured staples that kept communities fed before refrigeration. Rice Kefiran belongs to that broad family. It is made by fermenting whole-grain rice with Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens, the lactic-acid bacterium that also lives in kefir, the cultured food long associated with the Caucasus.
The fermentation is homolactic, which means the bacterium produces lactic acid alone. So unlike dairy kefir there is no alcohol and no carbon dioxide, and the result is very low in fat. It is entirely plant-based and free from dairy, which makes it suitable for vegans and for anyone who avoids lactose.
Each sachet provides 1.5g of Rice Kefiran, along with nutrients that come naturally from the rice it is fermented on, including rice peptides and GABA. The powder is neutral in taste and comes in single-use sachets that keep well at room temperature.
Directions: Take one sachet a day with a meal. Not suitable for children under 3 years old.

Directions: Recommended intake: one sachet per day, dispersed in a little water with a meal, or as directed by your health practitioner.
Children: Food supplements are generally formulated for adults, so we recommend consulting a paediatrician before giving them to babies or very young children. This supplement should not be taken by children under 3 years old.
Contraindications: Do not take if hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
