1) KLAMIN - Klamath Blue Green Algae Extract
At CAMexpo natural health show in October, The Really Healthy Company launched a new food supplement called KLAMIN — a patented extract of Klamath Blue Green Algae that has undergone special mechanical processing in order to concentrate specific nutrients. So along with the full spectrum of nutrients and antioxidants naturally found in Klamath Blue Green Algae, Klamin also contains a high concentration of phenylethalamine (PEA), a natural endorphin capable of balancing neurotransmitters, as well as a high concentration of natural MAO-B inhibitors which assure that the PEA is not broken down in the stomach.
Clinical studies on Klamin have demonstrated its ability to relieve anxiety, depression, and symptoms of the menopause, due to the effect it has on neurotransmitters and its ability to reduce oxidative stress. Klamin is also useful for improving stress tolerance and adrenal fatigue, as PEA helps regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) response to stress. It is also very helpful for Seasonal Affective Disorder and the January Blues.
Dr Scoglio, who has been researching Klamath Algae for the last five years and has instigated clinical studies on Klamin, gave a lecture at CAMexpo 2009 entitled Ultimate Brain Food- Clinically Proven Mood Benefits of Klamath Blue Green Algae Extracts. This lecture was BANT-accredited and very well received. If you missed it or would like to review it again, an audio-visual verson is www.healthy.co.uk/lectures/scoglio09.html.
For more information on Klamin see www.healthy.co.uk/products/algae-extract.html or if you would like us to send you a product sheet on Klamin with further information on the studies, please email Kirsten Brooks our nutritionist on firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also request a powerpoint presentation of this lecture if you require it.
