| "It is whole foods that pack the disease-preventing wallop. That's because they harbor a whole ratatouille of compounds that have never seen the inside of a vitamin bottle." |
| Newsweek, April 25, 1994 |

| "Chlorophyll: This is the substance that makes green plants green. Chlorophyll-rich foods like what grass, algae, seaweeds and green vegetables help to 'build' the blood." |

Klamath's Best® (Aphanizomenon Flos-Aquae or just AFA) grows wild
in Upper Klamath Lake in the American state of Oregon. For centuries, this algae
has traditionally been a source of nutrition for the Native American
population living in the area, but it has only been since the 1990s that it has been
available here in the UK.
Klamath's Best® algae is now
recognized as one of the most nutrient-dense wholefoods,
able to give the body a level and quality of nutrition which
both the Western deficient modern diet and artificial supplements
are unable to deliver. For this reason it is now an increasingly
popular and recommended food supplement. There are many reasons
given below why Klamath's Best is known as the
King of Algae, but in the end each of us has to experience
it for ourselves! |
| |
| |
One of the most nutrient dense wholefoods containing bioavailable
vitamins, minerals and amino acids. |
| |
| |
Freeze-dried to retain nutritional integrity including
enzyme activity (most algae harvesters use cheaper spray-drying
methods which damage the nutrients). Freeze-drying also concentrates
nutrients by up to 20 times, making this algae much more nutritionally valuable than frozen liquid brands. |
| |
| |
Just two capsules or 0.5 grams contains 4 µg of bioavailable
Vitamin B12. In fact, it is one of the only vegetable
sources of this
important
vitamin.
(Spirulina has
analogue B12 which is unusable by the body.) |
| |
| |
Contains 1.4mg (2260IU) of Beta-Carotene per gram. |
| |
| |
Each batch is rigorously tested for quality and
purity. It has also been tested by a government lab here in
the UK. |
| |
| |
Undergoes a unique filtration system that separates
off 100% of the microcystin content. (No other AFA brand undergoes
this process.) |
| |
| |
Certified organic by Oregon Tilth and in the EU. |
| |
| |
68% high quality protein, more than animal sources. |
| |
| |
Each gram contains 30mg of chlorophyll. (Spirulina
contains 11.5mg per gram, Chlorella 28mg, Barley Grass 14.9mg
and Wheat Grass 5.5mg.) |
| |
| |
An alkaline food - most foods have an acidic effect on the body. |
| |
| |
Contains only 4 calories per daily intake of 1gram. |
| |
| |
This algae has a soft cell wall which makes the
nutrients 98% assimilable. |
| |
| |
Helps to integrate brain and body function. |
| |
| |
Contains no GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms). |

| * Please note that any level reported as less than (<) indicates a result of non-Detect at the level tested. The test level is indicated. Actual values are either below or zero. |
| |
| ** Please also note that this profile is specifically for Klamath's Best brand of blue green algae from Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon. Because harvesting and drying can alter the profile, this data is brand specific. This data for Klamath's Best was from a 2007 batch and was supplied by Klamath Valley Botanicals, 24470 Modoc Point Road, Chiloquin, Oregon 97624, United States. |
| |
| The above is the full nutritional
profile of Klamath's Best blue-green algae. Many of the nutrients
are present in very small amounts which is why they are not
listed on the product label. However, because the algae is
so easily absorbed, and because these nutrients are in an
organic form, they may be more significant than the absolute
figures suggest. Remember that Klamath's Best is
a wholefood and should not be compared with the artificial
pills available in health food stores, which some evidence
shows may be harmful in certain concentrations. |
| |
| |
Klamath's Best® blue-green algae is imported to the UK by The Really Healthy Company and is
available through good healthfood stores and pharmacies. (If for any reason your
store does not have Klamath's Best, they
can certainly order it for you.) You can also purchase it online at https://reallyhealthy.com/shop/home.php?cat=108. |
